The historic Esala Maha Perahera Festival of the Siddha Rankadu Paththini Devalaya, regarded as a grand cultural celebration of the Kelani River Valley, marked its 214th year. As part of this annual festival, the third Gonpita Perahera of the Udamaluwa took to the streets, representing a rare and distinctive tradition in Sri Lanka that features the ceremonial inclusion of cattle (bulls).

As part of the grand cultural celebration of the Kelani River valley, the final Randoli Perahera, featuring elephants, of the 214th Annual Esala Maha Perahera Festival of the historic Kadudevola Siddha Rankadu Paththini Devalaya, ceremonially proceeded around the Devalaya streets on the 12th.
