Pawada Pita Perahera (Procession over a Ceremonial White Cloth Pathway)

Marking the commencement of the first official procession of the 214th Esala Perahera Festival of the historic Siddha Rankadu Pattini Devalaya, Kadu Devola, the Pawada Pita Perahera, carried out over a ceremonial white cloth laid on the ground and serving as a sacred pathway, paraded along the streets surrounding the Devalaya yesterday (26th) at the auspicious time of 9:05 p.m.
